WHS 2026 side event – Tackling AMR starts with prevention: From Strategy to Implementation

BEAM Alliance together with OM Pharma will co-host at the World Health Summit 2026 a discussion around an important question in the AMR debate: how can we prevent more infections before antibiotics are used?
The side event, “Tackling AMR starts with prevention: From Strategy to Implementation” will explore how we move beyond recognizing prevention as an important principle and start embedding it more systematically into AMR policy and health-system practice.
We are particularly looking forward to hearing the multi-stakeholder perspectives of Sascha van Beek, Benedikt David Huttner, Vanessa Carter, Ingrid Wanninger and Robert Skov, with Mariam Zaidi moderating the conversation.
The session will also see the launch of BEAM Alliance policy brief, setting out practical steps to strengthen infection prevention within the AMR response, from awareness and health-system resilience to the policy and investment environment needed to support preventive innovation.
