Tamrisa acquires French biotech NanoReviv and complements its R&D pipeline in the Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) space with a proprietary nanotechnology platform and a first promising reformulation program of an existing antibiotic against resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections.

Tamrisa closed the acquisition for 100% of the shares of Nanoreviv this month. www.nanoreviv.com

Created in September 2023 by Dr Amokrane Reghal, NanoReviv is specialized in the reformulation of existing antimicrobial agents to deliver them at a controlled rate with sustained high local concentrations, for increased efficacy and reduced systemic side-effects. Its main program Staph-EX consists of a prolonged-release pharmaceutical gel of daptomycin for local single application during surgical procedures to prevent or to treat infections of prosthetic joint, open fracture or diabetic foot ulcer caused by resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Currently at preclinical stage, this program ambitions to offer numerous potential benefits vs existing standard of care: enhanced efficacy, reduced side effects and enhanced quality of life for the patients, slowdown of bacterial resistance development, and significant savings for healthcare systems.

Fully aligned with Tamrisa’s purpose of tackling anti-microbial resistance through Innovation, Stewardship and Access, the acquisition of NanoReviv reinforces Tamrisa’s R&D portfolio. Staph-EX program comes as a promising complement to the de novo antibiotics against top priority multi-resistant pathogens that Tamrisa team is currently developing.

Amokrane Reghal, NanoReviv’s founder and CEO said “We are delighted of this opportunity to bring NanoReviv under Tamrisa’s umbrella. With the experience of Tamrisa‘s team and their unique model in the AMR space, we maximize here the chances that patients suffering from debilitating bone infections can eventually benefit in a few years from now from Staph-EX as a new therapeutic solution”.

Incorporated nearby Lille, France, NanoReviv will continue benefiting within Tamrisa from the support of Eurasanté and BPI France Nord.
